TEACHER BIO'S

LIZ WESTERINGH: Vocal & Piano teacherElizabeth Westeringh developed a love for music at a young age. At the age of three, she sang her first solo and at seven she was inspired by her older siblings to take piano lessons. Elizabeth studied piano under the instruction of Joyce Dyck for eleven years, and voice under the instruction of Tiffany Delooff for five years.
In November 2014, she had the amazing opportunity to play with the Chilliwack Symphony Orchestra in the Piano Extravaganza. With her piano skills, she received honors for taking both grade 5 and grade 8 RCM practical and theory exams.
In March 2016, Elizabeth, along with her secondary school choir, travelled to the Netherlands to perform four live concerts in different cities of Holland. The two week long trip gave her the opportunity to sing in the Saint John’s Church, the longest and largest church in the Netherlands, as well as many other beautiful churches.
For many years, Elizabeth has competed in the Chilliwack Lions Music Festival and Kiwanis Fraser Valley Music Festival in voice and piano. In March 2017, she was awarded the Owen Duggan Award for her sacred solo, The Holy City, which led up to the Florence Tunbridge Memorial Trophy. Elizabeth competed in various vocal classes such as Musical Theatre, Sacred, Contemporary Pop, Classical, and Folk.
In May 2018, Elizabeth’s dreams of recording and releasing her first CD, Give Thanks, became a reality. Her album contains a mixture of favorite contemporary and traditional worship songs sung from her heart.
Elizabeth continues to share her musical talent in the community through church, nursing homes, choirs and other special events.
Her goal, in teaching voice and piano at A&D Music, is to be a positive influence for children, to help them express themselves through music, and to assist them in improving their musical abilities while having fun.
